研究指部分牙膏助修復牙齒侵蝕 牙醫:日常生活調整重要

酸、甜的食物和飲品,可能每天也會攝取,但這些物質有機會導致牙齒侵蝕。除了因為酸性物質直接令口腔變酸,糖分與口腔細菌發生反應時,也會產生酸,會侵蝕琺瑯質,如果再加上日常損耗如磨牙、咀嚼食物,會加速牙齒侵蝕,出現敏感牙齒、蛀牙、碎開等等。

牙醫黃凌旻醫生解釋,牙齒最外層的結構為琺瑯質,主要由鈣、磷等礦物質組成,覆蓋著牙冠,為人體最堅硬的組織,比骨骼更堅硬。「不過,酸性物質是琺瑯質的『天敵』,會直接帶走構成琺瑯質的堅硬物質,亦會軟化牙齒表面,使其更容易被磨損,例如磨牙會加劇牙齒侵蝕。」飲用酸性飲料、口水分泌較少、胃酸倒流、過量攝取酒精、過量進食水果等。

嚴重的牙齒侵蝕會導致牙齒敏感、蛀牙、變黃和碎開等問題。黃醫生指,預防牙齒侵蝕的方法並不困難,首先是選擇合適的牙膏,除了已獲證有效及使用多年的氟化物,近年市面上有含有仿天然琺瑯質微粒(Biomimetic hydroxyapatite, BioHAP)的牙膏。黃醫生指這種成分能填補象牙質微細管道,有研究比較八種類型的牙膏,結果在第二周和第四周的結果均顯示,含納米羥基磷灰石(nano-hydroxyapatite)的效果最好,第二周的累積改善敏感牙齒概率為60%,第四周則增至67%。

黃凌旻醫生提醒,大眾也應從日常生活減少琺瑯質流失,「如喝水取代果汁或汽水、減少進食的頻密程度、飲用或進食酸性食物時避免含於口內、飲用或進食酸性食物後,應以清水漱口。」
