你吃的食物造成今日的你

西諺有云:「You are what you eat」,我覺得十分準確。過去一段時間中吃進肚子的食物,造成你現在的外貌和體形,甚至比起星座和生肖,更能影響你的性格和命運。

舉個例說,香港人(包括我)自小就有個迷思,以為米飯是每餐都非吃不可,至少要吃整整一碗,而且不能吃剩,否則就是「無衣食」,對不起辛勞的農夫。現在很多人都明白澱粉質固然重要,但由於米飯過於精緻,升糖指數太高,造成胰島素分泌不穩定,血糖快上快落,反而增加食慾。

除了能快速被身體吸收的糖分之外,其他維生營養素在去皮去殼的過程中被大幅移除。久而久之,最後過多的糖分被身體轉為脂肪來儲存,導致超重和肥胖。

「量」也是一個很重要的問題。外出吃飯,一個西式晚餐頭盤、湯、麵飽、主食、甜品三至五道菜。去一次飲(婚宴)前前後後九道菜!還有快餐、火鍋、一大杯的手搖飲品、零食呢......大家停一停,想一想,為甚麼要吃這麼多?加上高鹽高糖高油的食物肯定比清淡的吸引,味道更鮮明,吃下去甚至會令人覺得快樂。難怪香港成年女性有兩成半以上是為肥胖,男性比率更高近四成!
