兒童增高無偏方

每逢新年,香港的小朋友吃得最多的大概是朱古力和蘿蔔糕等賀年食品,這些食品熱量高,不大健康。現今港孩普遍偏食,趨向肥胖,節後更應注重均衡飲食。

除了體重問題,很多家長也關心小孩的長高情況,很多人以為煲豬骨湯、多吃肉、鈣片或維他命D等能幫助小孩增高。其實,豬骨湯的鈣質根本不被腸胃吸收,過量服食鈣片更會導致腎結石,最終只是徒勞無功。要健康成長,當然要有健康且良好的生活習慣,而充足睡眠及運動尤其重要,因為兩者皆是分泌生長激素的重要因素。

此外,遺傳等先天因素亦會影響小孩身高。在香港這豐衣足食的城市,若家長身高正常,小孩飲食健康,並有適當運動,小孩仍然身材矮小,可能是身體出了毛病。家長應帶小孩求診,驗明原因。這些小孩可能是因腦下垂體分泌生長激素不足,或受體不吸收,而導致身材矮小。需要時可考慮進行生長激素注射,增加體內的生長激素以增高。然而,須注意的是,小孩長骨的生長板鈣化後便不會再長高,所以要在青春期前進行療程,才有機會增高。
