世衛稱新冠病毒不會因停止檢測而消失 籲繼續監測

世衛總幹事譚德塞說，上星期全球向世衛通報的新冠死亡個案超過15000宗，是2020年3月以來新增死亡人數最少的一星期，但仍然必須謹慎對待。

譚德塞指出，隨著很多國家減少新冠病毒檢測，世衛收到的病毒傳播和基因序列信息越來越少，導致越來越難察覺病毒的傳播模式和變異情況。

他說，新冠病毒不會因為停止檢測而消失，而是會繼續蔓延和變異，而且仍然會導致死亡，呼籲所有國家繼續監測新冠病毒。
