To be brief, there are three problems about this clinic that I have to point out:
1) Unclear Price Schedule
2) Unclear treatment procedures
3) Worsen the problem (the most important issue)
I've sprained my lumbar (lower back) a few days ago so I sought help from Dr Fung, who has some positive reviews online. I called the clinic and asked for the price for the visit, the nurse told me over the phone that it was HKD350 but in reality, an additional HKD750 will be charged as the consultation fee. The nurse implied that I can go without having a diagnosis to skip this. Fine, what I wanted is to treat my lower back problem. After I talked to Dr Fung, he suggested me to take 4 x-ray films, 2 on my CT, 2 on my LC (the spot of pain). The xray films (HKD200 each) shows that I have a titled bone in my pain spot and a titled bone in my thorax (which I believe to have existed for years, so no pain was found there). Dr Fung asked me to lay on my chest on his treatment bed and did some treatments on me including cracking my spine and neck. I wasn't told what kind of treatments would it be in advance. Dr Fung seemed to have forgotten that I was a first-timer to a chiropractor's clinic.
After the treatment, things seemed to be fine until some shifted pain and muscle spasm started to emerge at the same night. The original spot of my spasm was in my lumbar area but after the treatment, it shifted to the sacral area (i.e. on the right of my butt). I also feel a mild degree of numbness in my right hamstring.
Dr Fung asked me to visit his clinic (opening hours of which are within normal working hours) three times a week in the following 2 months. The nurse also asked me to buy a treatment package of HKD6000/10 times after the visit. When I told her that I could only make it on Saturday and asked what I could do it on myself to speed up recovery, she asked me to come again and Dr Fung will only advise in my next visit. (Is this even a proper attitude as a doctor? (oops, sorry, a chiropractor is not a doctor, practically)).
My symptoms get worse after the treatment. It has already been 5 days after my visit and I don't know where I can fix them now. Think twice before you go to any chiropractor.
