I had my first consultation in Dec 2016 for routine check-up and was extremely impressed by Dr Yuen’s professional manner and his caring gesture and tone. Dr Yuen was highly articulate. The session was comprehensive and ended well above my expectation. My kids (5 & 7 yrs old) were also completely at ease when being examined by Dr Yuen.Two weeks after my consultation, my mother-in-law was hospitalized and diagnosed with acute glaucoma by another doctor and an operation was arranged 3 days later. I decided to call up Dr Yuen for a second opinion. The next morning, he had everything fixed for her within 2 hours (examination and operations for both eyes). My in-law was extremely thankful she did not have to stay longer in hospital. She also praised Dr Yuen for his careful examination and patient manner which gave her total confidence that morning to leave the rest to him.
Thanks to Dr Yuen, his secretary Rosita and the nurses at the clinic who worked so efficiently that morning to make it happened for us. Dr Yuen knew the earlier the operation the better for me too as I had to go on a family holiday trip with my kids on the same day of the operation, his thoughtfulness was very much appreciated. He would keep me posted of my in-law’s post-op check up conditions during my trip and to reassure me everything was under control. I could not stop telling others how lucky I was to have met Dr Yuen.
I told my son I would do a write-up for Dr Yuen and asked for his contribution, he said “Super Great”! I can’t agree more and I have no hesitation in recommending this young, highly capable and caring doctor to all my friends and relatives.

Have been consulting him since I came back from my cataract operations in Malaysia last year. He's very patient and thorough in his explanations and answering my questions and concerns at every visit. Gives me the confidence I need. I find him a very willing and helpful person.
This time it was conjunctivitis. No antibiotics prescribed that's what I wanted! It cleared up after a couple of days.

I had cataracts and the vision was very blurry. It was impacting my work and my lifestyle and I was nervous about having any surgery done on my eyes. After surgery, I now have the same eyesight that I did when I was in my 20's... I'm 58 now. I no longer need glasses to work in a high pressured, high tech office environment. Dr Yuen was very professional, calm and has a lovely reassuring manner. He and the team of Angel and Elice really looked after me. I highly recommend Dr Leonard Yuen and having the refractive eye surgery (replacing the lens in the eyes), I wish I had it done earlier. I might get glasses for some really detailed but I don't really need them anymore!

LASIK surgery

I recently went back to Dr Leonard Yuen for a follow up and I am delighted! I am an 81-year-old American who lives most of the year in Boston but spends about 3 months annually in Hong Kong. In March 2015 I had cataract surgery in Boston for my left eye, but experienced some problems afterwards, mainly blurring and occasional double vision. A friend in Hong Kong strongly recommended that I see Dr. Leonard Yuen, a highly regarded young eye surgeon he knew. I went to see Dr. Yuen, who, after a careful examination of the left eye told me I had an astigmatism in that eye (which was more noticeable after cataract surgery), which he could easily correct with LASIK surgery - a procedure which would take only 5-10 minutes, be painless, and almost certainly fix the problem.
Since I didn’t know anything about astigmatisms, he explained to me very carefully what they were and how they often contributed to the sorts of problems I had been experiencing. I made an appointment to have the LASIK surgery. It went very well, Dr. Yuen phoned me that evening to see how I was doing and examined me the next morning. He said the surgery was completely successful, and a week later I had a new lens made for my glasses. Within days after the changed prescription, everything worked fine. No blurring, no double vision. Problem resolved.
I’ve gone into such detail because my case reflects very well not only on Dr. Yuen’s skills as an eye surgeon, but also on his intelligence and, equally important, his careful and clear explanation of what LASIK surgery was all about and why he had
recommended it for me. I have also had occasion recently to hear Dr. Yuen give a public talk. It was a general talk on the eye for an audience of mostly older folks. He covered all the most commonly encountered problems and was marvelously poised, articulate, and engaging. All present appreciated the clarity with which he addressed a topic that was of wide interest to most in the audience. In a nutshell, highly recommended!
